Loops

Some days, there's one thing that just sticks with me all day, distracts me and keeps me from moving forward.

And other days, I long for the day when it's just one thing.

Open loops.

Something gets started, but before it's completed, before you get the satisfaction of resolution or putting-it-to-rest, it gets interrupted.

Relationship conflict, misunderstandings, money, time, appointments, all kinds of loops get left open.

But like everything, it passes. The loop may not get closed the way you originally expected, but letting that one open loop infect all your others is chaos.

I am trying to approach each open loop by taking a minute to dial down my gut reaction by two notches. Angry? Stop, breathe, take it down a notch. Stop, breathe, down another. Frustrated, saddened, disappointed? Down two notches.

That way, I don't become the cause of someone else's open loop.
