No News is...

Mom always said that when it comes to raising teenage boys, no news was good news. We didn't call much in the landline era, but we were usually home on time, so if she never got a call, it was okay with her.

I spent the past 6 weeks worried about government approval of a report I spent months on. Days turned to weeks with no response. I knew the holes in my presentation, and was sure they were opening those holes more each day.

On the court-ordered deadline day, the agency with which we are dealing asked for an extension. They hadn't looked over it yet.

No news is no news. That's it.

It's okay for the things that are out of sight to be out of mind.
